Old Reflection

In the final hours of 2011, I contemplated the past year. I lived through a number of experiences and learned quite a bit, punctuated by the people I've shared these experiences with.
I've met people that have taught me it's okay to feel vulnerable at times.
I've met those who have taught me that I need them as much as they need me.
From others, still, I learned to not accept treatment or behaviors.
I learned to care much more deeply for people.
I learned how to make another person feel welcome, and to be more personable and inviting.
I learned what a friend really is.
I learned how impressions last.
I learned that what one person is destined for does not apply to another.
Finally, I learned that if there is something you want--regardless of what it is--pursue it to the ends of the earth, ignoring every obstacle to get it.
